Falkland Islands Tourist
Founded in the early 1990s the Falkland Islands Tourist (FIT) is the peak industry body for tourism industry in the Falkland Islands, driving forward industry development and representing local operators. Funded jointly by government, member subscriptions and its own efforts, FIT has a board of eight directors and small team of professionals based in Stanley.
Along with the responsiblity of marketing the Falkland Islands as a prime international wildlife destination, FIT also manages the Jetty Visitor Centre in Stanley and oversees the ongoing development and implementation of the national tourism strategy.
Tourism in the Falklands has been linked with Antarctic tourism since the industry's inception in the late nineteen sixies and early seventies - due mainly to the pioneering efforts of such visionaries as the late Lars Eric Lindblad. Whilst outside the geographical area covered by the Antarctic Treaty, the Falkland Islands have long been regarded as one of the gateways to Antarctica, and along with South Georgia have been included in Antarctic cruise itineraries for many years.
The cruise ship industry has boomed in the Falklands in the last decade, and tourism is now the second largest industry in the Islands. Land-based passenger exchanges and vessels destined for the Islands' untouched wildlife sites continue to make a vital contribution the nation's economy. The continued growth of the cruise ship market in the Islands has also demonstrated to the local population and Government the value of the nation's natural environment, and highlighted the need to introduce protection strategies to ensure the future longevity of the industry. Together with local operators and Government, FIT is firmly committed to the development of sustainable tourist sites through the introduction of infrastructure, education, and legislation. Grand Nord

Noble Caledonia
Some years ago Noble Caledonia detected a need by seasoned travelers for a company that could offer a range of trips that were educational, enjoyable and above all different. Since our establishment in 1991 we have made it our aim to provide our clients with a lasting memory of a journey made with like-minded travelers, whether you are one of a hundred aboard an exploration cruise of Antarctica, or one of fifteen exploring the historic route of Eritrea.
Unlike most travel companies our range of trips is constantly evolving, shaped by world events, new discoveries, festivals, historic themes and out of the ordinary human endeavors. As we do not own any vessels we have the flexibility to charter space on the many different vessels with their varying itineraries which allows us to offer our clients a wide choice of Antarctic cruise experiences whether it be a short hop to the Antarctic Peninsula or a 39 day Semi circumnavigation of Antarctica. However, we do only work with expedition style cruise ships carrying 100-200 passengers in Antarctica in order to maximize the educational content and number of trips ashore whilst minimizing the environmental impact.
We pride ourselves on offering a personalized service which ensures the smooth running of your holiday booking from the first phone call to our office until you return back home from your trip. This is one of the reasons many people travel with us regularly and recommend us to their friends and family. Last but not least, we aim to ensure value for money with all the trips we offer.
Noble Caledonia sells group space on expedition style cruise ships carrying 100-200 passengers in Antarctica in order to maximize the educational content and number of trips ashore whilst minimizing the environmental impact. The itineraries which include South Georgia are our most popular Antarctic product, and we also sell Antarctic Peninsula cruises, a Semi Circumnavigation of Antarctica and the 'Far Side'. We are currently working with the following vessels: Orion, Polar Star, Andrea, Corinthian II, Explorer, Explorer II, National Geographic Endeavour, Kapitan Khlebnikov, Sarpik Ittuk, Lybuov Orlova, Professor Multanovskiy and Akademik Shokalskiy.

Waterproof Expeditions
, world's expert on polar diving, offers exciting voyages to unique parts of the world, specializing in diving and photography. We have 20 years of combined experience in the travel industry, dive- and film-expeditions and a passion for the polar regions. We aim to attract travelers who share our passion for nature and adventure, as well as our values of conservation, education and sustainable tourism.
With our three different program sections: Diving Expeditions Cruise Expeditions Special Expeditions, we offer a selection of voyages for everybody who is dreaming of an experience of a lifetime.
Waterproof Expedition is the only polar dive operator where diving and (underwater) photography is a priority on the trip. Diving in the polar areas, like all activities in the Arctic and Antarctica, is influenced by weather and ice and it takes time, dedication and experience to explore the best diving possibilities and find the best locations. We know from experience that running a dive operation in these remote regions takes a lot of work and specific knowledge. Our dive operation is organized by experts who have experienced many extreme situations in the field and who are trained to search out the best opportunities for divers, taking into account the unpredictable weather and ice conditions. We take polar diving very seriously and maintain the highest level of safety in combination with quality diving.
Waterproof Expeditions is a sister company of Waterproof Diving International, the award winning designer and manufacturer of dive suits and accessories. Their dive suits and equipment have been tried and tested throughout the world, especially in the harsh environments of the polar regions.
Waterproofs claim to fame also comes from one of its founders, Göran Ehlmé, head-designer of the award winning dive suits. Göran is internationally renowned for his camera- and film-work and winner of the BBCs Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2006 award, with his image of a feeding Walrus underwater in Greenland. It is our desire that divers, nature lovers and photographers from around the world, can share in the amazing experiences Göran has captured on film, whether this is on land or underwater.
